Carroll Energy Solutions Mission

In today's political and environmental climate, there is little dispute about the necessity for Americans to reduce our collective energy use. While awareness has never been greater, a gap remains between appreciation for these issues and individual action.

Our mission is to deliver affordable solutions that reduce energy use and save money without affecting your family's quality of life.

Turn the lights off...ride a bike...for gosh sakes, don't run the water when you brush your teeth! We hear suggestions like these every day. What about decisions that are not straightforward? How long will it take for my new windows to pay for themselves? Where is my house losing the most energy? How airtight can I make my home without sacrificing the health of my family? We need answers to these questions and a salesman may not be the best person to ask.

There are two aspects of what we do that will never cease to amaze me. The first is how surprised people are when they learn how simple changes can significantly reduce their monthly utility bills. The other is how proud they feel knowing they are making the effort to improve their personal impact on the planet. We can save money and do the right thing at the same time. Isn't that amazing?

Since I moved here to attend the University of Pennsylvania in the 90's I have been proud to call Philadelphia my adopted hometown. Ours is a city full of conscientious and resourceful people and I am truly thrilled to be both working for and living among you.

John F. Carroll, Carroll Energy SolutionsThe price of energy and our effect on the environment increase every day. The time to act is today and we want to help. You'll be glad you did.

Just by using the "off the shelf" energy-efficient technologies available today, we could cut the cost of heating, cooling, and lighting our homes and workplaces by up to 80%.

Replacing one incandescent light bulb with an energy-saving compact fluorescent bulb means 1,000 pounds less carbon dioxide is emitted to the atmosphere and $67 dollars is saved on energy costs over the bulb's lifetime.

Recycling a four foot stack of newspapers is the equivalent of saving a 40 foot fir tree.

Using 100 kWh of wind power each month is equivalent to not driving 2,400 miles or planting a half acre of trees.

Residential appliances, including heating and cooling equipment and water heaters, consume 90% of all energy used in the U.S. residential sector

An average of 23,000 pounds of carbon dioxide is emitted annually in each American home.

A decrease of only 1 percent in industrial energy use would save the equivalent of about 55 million barrels of oil each year, worth about $1 billion.

One tree can filter up to 60 pounds of pollutants from the air each year

Recycling a glass jar saves enough energy to light a 100 watt bulb for four hours
